Can I mount high wattage corn lamps horizontally?

These lights do get heavier as the wattage increases, sometimes too heavy for the screw sockets they are installed in. If you install the bulbs vertically (up or down), they can work normally. However, if your socket is level, you may need to install a thin wire to support the bulb and reduce the pressure on the socket.
